Cogswell is a small town located in southeastern North Dakota, United States. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km²), all of it land. The estimated population of Cogswell is 105 as of 2021.

Cogswell was named after Wesley Cogswell, a Civil War veteran who served as one of the early settlers of the area. The town was founded in 1882 as a stop on the Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul Railway. Agriculture is the primary industry in Cogswell, with crops such as wheat, corn, and soybeans being the mainstay of the local economy.

Despite its small size, Cogswell is known for its strong community spirit and its many community events, including a Fourth of July parade and fireworks display, a Thanksgiving dinner, and a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. The town also has a public park with a swimming pool, playground, and picnic area, as well as several churches, a library, and a community center.
